Not from farming background, have worked into it. Currently an advisor for SAC Consulting based in Argyll and have been for the last 7 years which has a range of skills, knowledge and experience unique to the roll that has application benefits and can be seen as strengths in other roles. Previous work includes time as an Assistant Research Scientist, Harvest Worker Berwick, East Lothian (June 2014). Short term employment helping with harvest and other duties on the estate. Operation of heavy machinery such as irrigation systems and forklift work. General Farm Technician Farm, East Lothian (May 2013 August 2013). A temporary post. Required to monitor and maintain the welfare and environment of a significant number of hens for the production of genetic eggs for storage and sale. Responsible for accurate data recording and correct cataloguing of genetic material to a deadline for pickup. Assistant Farm Manager , Lucindale, South Australia. (Sept 2012 May 2013) Work on a 10000 acre pastoral cattle farm. Working with a large herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, general husbandry and welfare monitoring of livestock. Work at outdoor calving, large scale hay production and all machinery required, also general maintenance of farm area including fencing repairs, machine maintenance, steading upkeep etc. Lamber Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
