Full time appointment managing a low input 450ac Organic and Pasture For Life certified enterprise consisting of 40 pedigree English Longhorn sucklers and 100 followers (finished through an onsite butchery) all outwintered and self-weaning.

Key achievements include; Introduction of of Mob Grazing techniques, adding (and management of) 230ac of additional grazing rights in partnership with a local rewilding scheme, developing butchery skills and a complex knowledge of direct selling & on-farm diversification, applying & administering new Sustainable Farming Incentive Agreement, complete upgrade of onsite water system including addition of multi point quick couplers & managing a number of Temporary Land Associations.

Full time appointment managing a 700ac organic and 100% grass-fed livestock enterprise consisting of 60 pedigree English Longhorn sucklers, 120 followers (finished on site) and a flock of 200 Exlana ewes and followers.

Key achievements include; Becoming a member of a CHeCs scheme and gaining high level accreditation for BVD, Lepto, Neospora, Johnes & IBR. Joining a ProActive Sheep Health Scheme, testing for all main diseases. Creation of in-house FEC testing programme. Implementation of Performance Recording for Sheep & Cattle. Conversion of holding to Organic & 100% Grass Fed status with associated increase in income. Creation of a successful Beef Box Scheme. Implementation of new grazing plan with the use of Holistic Management practises, thereby allowing out wintering of cattle, greatly reducing winter fuel, fodder and labour costs. Creation of on-farm wildlife habitats with the help of volunteers from the local community e.g. planting of 6000 trees, creation of dewponds and reversion of 30ac of improved leys to species rich permanent pasture.
