2014-2024 own tenanted dairy farm 65 high yielding Holsteins plus followers top bands for hygiene and good fertility 7/14 herringbone parlour. 115 acres of pasture also growing maize, fodderbeet and cereals.

Prior to this milking 80-100 crossbred low input/ low output crossbreds through a 12/24 , feeding scraping and bedding.

Milking 60 Ayrshire cows through a 6 point abreast along with grass management, moving fences, spreading fertiliser.

Milking 100 British Frisians through a 12/12 herringbone, all yard work scraping, bedding and feeding . Slurry and dung spreading, topping, mowing, bale carting.

Milking 160 Friesans and jerseys through a 12/12 parlour, scraping feeding, bedding . All associated tractor work for silage production.

Work on a beef farm rearing bucket calves through to slaughter alongside 50 suckle cows and calves, calving and stock work alongside 250 acres of arable to bed fed back through the stock. ploughing , soil preparation with drag harrows, cultivators, power harrows and direct drilling.

Mostly smaller farms between 100 acres and 400 acres with most work undertaken in house with a small team of just the farmer and myself or 1 more employee. An arrangement witch meant I had to become a jack of all trades being able to do any job asked of me at anytime.

The last 10 years running my own farm means I have taken this on and largely worked by myself or with a contractor for larger jobs.
