I have experience driving modern tractors and towing basic gear like rollers and hydraulic trailers from my time spent working on Islay Estate on the Isle of Islay in 2025. During this time I also helped out with carting silage bales and shifting fertiliser bags.
I grew up on a sheep and beef farm in NZ, then going on to work on dairy farms where I used tractors for various tasks like feeding out, clearing organic waste etc.
Growing up on a sheep and beef farm in NZ I learnt all the fundamentals of this type of farming. I built on these skills while working on Islay Estate where I carried out various tasks like vaccinating, drenching/dosing, treating lame feet, shifting stock.
I've worked on dairy farms in NZ where I would milk twice daily, helped with calving, shifting break fences and fed out.

I grew up on a sheep and beef farm in NZ, going on to gain experience in the dairy industry before heading away to university. Following on from that I worked as a journalist for the NZ Farmers Weekly for three years.
I am now residing in Scotland, having spent some time last year working on a large estate as a general farm and estate worker. During this time I worked predominantly in the livestock team, although also helped out rolling barley paddocks for a month, carting silage bales, and moving fertiliser and estate machinery around the 20,000 acre property on a regular basis.
Since arriving in the United Kingdom, Ive enjoyed strengthening my practical farming skills, whether that be through
livestock work or tractor driving, and hope to build on these, specifically in the arable sector.
