I have always maintained my own farm machinery, as well as the machinery on the various farms that I have previously worked on. This includes regularly servicing tractors, and general farm machinery such as mowers, dung spreaders, toppers and post bangers. I am particularly more experienced with the maintenance and upkeep of older machinery. During the summer, I am responsible for all haymaking; mowing and turning the grass, and overseeing the contractors who help with baling.

I am a passionate farmer with a love for the countryside and compassion for wildlife. I have worked on farms since leaving school and now have a wealth of farming experience. I have always been conscious of the balance between nature and wildlife that is needed to run a successful and ecologically sustainable farm. Over the last five years, I have solely managed a 350 acre organic beef farm in Bratton Clovelly, Devon. The herd consisted of 250 head of pedigree native Aberdeen Angus on a pasture fed for life, organic grass-fed system. I have introduced store lambs to help manage the grassland ,as well as the use of many stewardhsip schemes aimed at assisting the ecological progression of the farm; for example, hedgelaying, wildlife boxes, and woodland management. Conservation grazing is an important element of farming,and something l have been introducing in part on the farm. As part of being farm manager, I was responsible for all estate maintenance, such as hedgelaying, chainsawing, woodland maintenance, timber work, grazing and pasture management, all livestock management, haymaking, dung spreading, and soil aeration. I am responsible for the administration of all medicines required for the general health of the livestock. This includes, drenching, bolusing,TB testing,routine healthchecks, weighing fat|store stock monthly ,injecting eyes for cattle with New Forest eye, as well as routine tagging and ringing calves.Transporting cattle to slaughter and other grazing locations. I am passionate about livestock and grassland management, and I particularly take pride in having a high standard of animal husbandry. I work well individually and as part of a team. I am particularly passionate about working with cattle. I am looking forward to working in a new environment and meeting new people.
