Farming background

Family Farm

We have expanded our cropping operations from zero to over 200 hectares. While soybeans remain our primary crop, we have recently introduced winter wheat and previously cultivated maize, cabbages, and butternut. By implementing no-till farming methods, we have significantly improved soil health, achieving strong yields with minimal input costs.

Hay Production & Contracting

• Annually cut, rake and bale grass for cattle feed and sale to local farmers and businesses.

• Played a key role in marketing and selling bales

• Provide contracting services to local farmers, assisting with hay production.

Machinery

I have extensive experience operating a wide range of agricultural machinery, including:

Tractors: Kubota M130X, John Deere 6430, Landini Powerfarm 105 HC, Massey Ferguson 440, John Deere 2651

Harvesting Equipment: CASE IH 2188 Axial-Flow combine

Construction Equipment: New Holland & JCB TLBs

With these machines, I have proficiently performed various tasks, including:

• Land preparation, planting, spraying, and fertilizing

• Hay work, bale stacking, and harvesting

• Loading one-ton bags of wheat, soybeans, and maize onto trucks

• Transporting grain using tractor-drawn trailers

• Tree removal and land clearing

Livestock

Our farming enterprise includes a commercial beef herd along with a small Brahman and Braford stud. I have hands-on experience in all aspects of cattle management, including counting, branding, dipping, dehorning, and administering vaccinations. Additionally, I am skilled in handling livestock, ensuring their well-being, and monitoring for signs of illness or distress. Through years of experience, I have developed a keen ability to identify unwell animals and take appropriate action to maintain herd health. My practical knowledge, combined with a strong work ethic, contributes to the efficient management and care of our livestock.

2) General Farm Worker -  Droitwich, Worcestershire, England

I worked  in Droitwich, Worcestershire, as a General Farm Worker from 4 May 2023 to 25 July 2023. During my time there, I contributed to an ambitious agritourism project focused on developing an adventure playground, while also managing routine farm tasks.

For the playground project, I worked alongside the owners for site preparation tasks such as excavating and enlarging holes for support poles, setting them securely in concrete, laying drain pipes, and evenly distributing sand and wood chips. I also operated a minidumper to move soil, laid turf, and rolled the ground to create a stable base for a concrete padensuring the site passed safety standards by working additional hours when required.

Alongside these construction tasks, I managed daily farm operations including herding, counting, and feeding a small herd of cattle and a flock of sheep. I also carried out fencing work for animal paddocks, operated a brush cutter, lawnmower, and John Deere 1026R ride-on mower, and repaired playground go-carts as needed.

3) Tractor Operator & General Farm Worker - Hyde Hall Partnership,

Buntingford, Hertfordshire, England.

Work period: 31 July 2023 - 13 October 2023

At Hyde Hall, I primarily operated two CASE IH PUMA 240 CVXDrive tractors and a CASE IH PUMA 150 with Active Drive 6. During harvest season, my main responsibility was grain carting, using 18-ton, 14-ton, and 10-ton grain trailers. Once harvest was complete, I transitioned to hedge cutting with the CASE IH PUMA 150.

During drilling, I managed seed transportation and loading the drill using a Merlo telehandler. I was also responsible for all the rolling, using a 12m Dalbo roller paired with a

CASE IH PUMA 240, utilizing the CASE IH GPS system for precision.

Additional farm duties included fencing, construction work, slug pelleting, grass-topping around fields, and maintaining the farmyard.

4) Skilled Machinery Operator - Crows Lane Estate Contracting, South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, England.

Work period: 2 April 2024 - 8 November 2024

During my season at CLE Contracting, I operated four modern Fendt Vario 211F tractors, including three Profi Plus models featuring advanced agricultural technology. I manually operated the tractors for most tasks but utilised GPS guidance for precision spraying and other applications. I executed a range of assignments for both contracting clients and within the estates home vineyard, such as:

• Undervine cultivating (roll hacking), herbicide spraying and liquid phosphate application using ALM mid mounts

• Subsoiling and discing

• Triple, double, and single row spraying

• Canopy trimming, mowing, power harrowing/seeding, and weed whacking

In addition, I gained experience operating a 2170 JCB Fastrac, a JCB 542.70 Telehandler, and a New Holland T6.180. I did compost carting with the JCB Fastrac and a Bailey 18T trailer. During the grape harvest season, I primarily used the telehandler to unload empty dolav bins from lorries, distribute them to vineyards, load grape-filled bins onto trailers, and transport them back to the yard for lorry loading. I used the New Holland T6.180 to do subsoiling in the vineyards, mowing grasslands and arable land headlands with a Spearhead mower, and transporting full trailer loads of grapes from the vineyards to the yard
