Work Experience

(February 2022 - July 2023)

-Terminal Operator (West Melbourne)

-Here I work in the operations department where we process inbound truckloads and trainloads of grain as well as the processing of outbound shiploads of grain (bulk haulage and containers).

-Working as a Terminal Operator I have been trained in the classification of grain, the use of computer automated booking and recording systems as well as computer control programs for the site, the maintenance and cleaning of government regulated grain flow paths and the general handling of grain.

-We work on a shift work basis with Morning, afternoon, and night shifts. Shifts range from 8-12 hours in length.

-I have obtained my forklift, non slewing mobile crane and elevated work platform boom type (greater than 11.5m) high risk work licences.

(Australian Harvest 2022/23)

-Machinery Operator for the 2022/23 Northern Australian and Southern Australian harvest.

-Here I learnt to drive large Harvesting machinery as well as gaining an extra understanding of the grain processes at a different stage of production with my already basic understanding from work at LDC.

-The companyruns a large harvest contracting team of headers which I was part of (approximately 30 headers). Being part of this team taught me a large amount about how such a large contracting business operates as well as a large amount of problem solving skills that come from being placed in charge of your own header and left to problem solve many of the issues that arise as you harvest the crop.

(2019 present)

-I have worked on my family farm and other neighbouring farms in Western Victoria in the fields of livestock work, fodder haulage with the use of trucks and tractors, fodder feeding using tractors and other general farmhand jobs.

-I have done a large amount of fodder hauling and stacking using a tractor on the family farm as well as work for other farmers in the local area which has trained me to be very precise and careful in my work whilst using heavy and expensive machinery.

Redgum Firewood Business (winter 2020 and 2021)

-During COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 I started a redgum firewood business off of my family farm in Western Victoria. Each season I processed and sold over 100 cubic metres of firewood to clients from all over the area.

-This job taught me the fundamentals of running a small business including finances, people skills, client interactions, advertising and business efficiencies.

(2020-2021)

-Builders Labourer

-Here I carried out many different labouring skills including digging trenches, wheel barrowing, haulage of heavy items, cleaning equipment, demolishing structures.
