Description


Young progressive dairy farmer requires a positive person to be part of a young 3 man team, milking 550 Spring calving cows once a day.  Run on a low cost pasture based system, milked through a modern parlour with excellent grazing infrastructure.  We are looking for a good all rounder with good stockmanship skills and some tractor/telehandler driving experience. Mlking experience prefered but not essential, attitude more important than experience as training will be available.Duties to include milking, grass allocation and fence moving, feeding silage when necessary, youngstock work, calf feeding, fencing, tractor driving, general farm work.   Required for minimum of 6 months  but ideally 1 year. Must be able to work alone and as part of a team. Could be the oppurtunity to progess for the right candidate.  Oppurtunities to learn and network with other postive pasture farmers and be part of our wider farming business (Arable and Poultry)  Position would suit graduate, placement year student or similar looking to gain knowledge of pasture management and New Zealand type system.  Gloucestershire.
