Farming background

I have always lived on a dairy farm and helped out from a young age. After completing a degree in countryside management I took on paid work on the farm where my main responsibly was calf rearing, scraping, bedding and helping with the other varied farm jobs such as silage. From here I went on to work for an 500+ beef / conservation grazing Belted Galloway herd as an assistant stockperson, where I would transport animals in trailers, check stock, identifying and medicating any sick animals and manage grazing sites. Here I also covered the assistant manager for a sabbatical, running day-to-day logistics and arranging and carrying out all routine procedures such as TB tests. This farm also had 100 sheep, 6 horses and a handful of goats which I also helped with.
