In my current role within farming and agricultural I work with 650 Pedigree Holsteins fulfilling our Muller Tesco milk contract. My day to day responsibilities vary depending on the needs of the farm and I would consider my adaptable personality one of the key factors why I am extremely efficient within my role. My Current duties include but no limited to: - Observing cow signals, communicating with the Young-stock team and reporting to the Herd Manager - Milking during periods of staff sickness and holidays. - Day to day Parlour and dairy hygiene - Working within a large herd environment - Looking after general animal welfare and hygiene - General shed work including but not limited to, cubical work, management of hydraulic automatic scrapers, and water troughs. - General site maintenance - Working of on site machinery including: JCB telehandler with attachments of, AG bedder, straw bedder, bucket, forks, grab, push up and more. - I also drive the onsite John Deere with trailer - Live stock management - Field maintenance - Ferrying silage As the farm is also carrying out major construction work I am also heavily involved within the building of our onsite barn and barn conversions. The duties include: - Transportation of materials - Completing onsite building repairs and maintenance - Construction of steelwork, roofing, concreting and more - Using machinery including, roller, cherry picker etc - Producing high standard of work all round from footings to completion I am also responsible for overseeing daily site activities across the farm including any onsite deliveries. I am also responsible for ensuring all day to day tasks are carried out by delegating responsibilities across the team. My role is extremely varied and carries a large amount of responsibility. It requires a huge amount of planning and prioritising, and requires me to have an all round business viewpoint with multiple skills. I would consider myself to have a hands-on yet effective approach and an excellent team player. I use my initiative and experience in situations to problem solve
