Lambing Scottish Blackface ewes inside and getting both a mixture of Mule and Blackie lambs. I was responsible for the feeding and water to the ewes both in single pens and big pens, making sure lambs had milk and not hungry and generally keeping an eye on any ewes lambing. The night shift got quiet after around 3 weeks so I moved onto day shift, with the little ewes waiting to lamb I was working on the farm carrying on General tasks including feeding cows, bedding cows with calves and helping out with any problems that occurred. Currently working on a beef and sheep farm near Thornhill, Dumfriesshire. Undertake a lot of tractor operations with some stock work including vaccinating and sorting out cattle. Clipping cattle for slaughterhouse and calving. Did extensive milking duties while at college and was always willing to help out other students if they needed to be away for anything. While working for the contactor, I arrived back at the college late one night and realised there was nobody there to do the milking so took this on using my own initiative.
