Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking the time in considering my application for your current vacancy of Herd Manager. Please see attached my CV which outlines my experience within the farming sector and highly relevant to this role. You’ll notice that I am currently working for Aberystwyth University as their Dairy Farm Manager, initially I was brought in to trouble shoot various issues surrounding farms enterprise management, staff structure and day to day operational protocols, focusing on attention to detail, benchmarking and hitting strategy targets. I have taken a keen interest in innovative practices of livestock management. Being part of the ‘Aber’ grass breeding program milk from forage is of high importance to me and the University council. Health and safety and animal welfare are core to my values and have recently trained in both. I was introduced into farming as a small child by my family, and I have been passionate about it ever since. Having learnt my trade from the ground up, first and foremost I consider myself to be a Stockman and that enjoying a hands-on role is essential. I have worked in a number of different types of farms and have many great achievements that I am proud of. I am a very passionate people manager and think that a successful and profitable farm is achieved by staff that are happy, highly trained, well informed and take pride in all we want to achieve. I’m a young yet experienced and highly motivated individual with a real passion for sustainable farming. I would very much like the opportunity to demonstrate and advance my skills by becoming your Herd Manager. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes. Neil
