Work Experience. 2015-Present - Farm. (Farm Manager) • Full time Farm Manager working to expand and diversify the family farming business. • Enterprises include Suckler Cattle and Calf Rearing, Sheep, Arable, and Pheasant Rearing. • Practical work based skills, including all aspects of stockmanship, machinery work, stock fencing and electric fencing and application of medicine to animals. • Application of Regulin and Chronogest Sponges within early lambing show ewes • Expansion of breeding ewes from 500 to 1000 and suckler cattle from 50 to 100 • The introduction of a new pheasant rearing enterprise producing 4000 poults per annum and the production of bull beef using dairy-bred calves. • Expanding 200 acre of owned land, with rental agreements for a further 210 acre. • Introduction of an EID recording system and the usage of ‘Farm Matters’ business software to improve efficiency and accuracy. • Selection of prime lambs and store cattle for sale through livestock markets, deadweight, and meat boxes. • Adaption from continuous grazing systems all year round, to rotational paddock grazing on clean grazing systems where possible. • Recording of analysis of feed, silage and worm counts • Finishing bull beef indoors, finishing of prime early lambs on cereal based diet, and spring lamb on red clover pastures. • Overcoming cobalt deficiencies using smart shot, and cobalt drench. • Selective breeding using EBVs in cattle as well as EBVs and Innovis breeding genetics in sheep • Record keeping, Movement licences, Budgeting • Management of my own flock of 150 commercial Shetland and 20 pedigree Jacob show ewes on local rented grazing. • Regularly help show sheep at agricultural shows with some success. • Calf rearing • Teaching and Training of work placement students from agricultural collages, organising students, and communicating with relevant staff • Training own Sheep dog 2015-Present - Poultry  Company  • Breeding various poultry including, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, quail, and ornamental pheasants, recently expanding into aviary birds. • Creating, running and maintaining, a small local hobby business • Dealing with and selling to members of the public • Running a social media group • Poultry stockmanship, including feeding, watering and administering medication • Marketing via social media, ebay, word of mouth and attending local sales to build contacts • Currently building a website (set to be finished next year) September 2013 - September 2014 (Harper Adams Placement) Wissington Charolais • General Stockmanship • JCB loadall driving, New Holland 7840 driving.
