Farming background

I have been raised on farm from a very young age, my dad is a stockman/farm manager so I have lived on farm all my life. After leaving school with good GCSE's I then studied ND farm and mechanisation at Llysfasi Agricultural College. From there I went straight to work on a local dairy farm, duties included relief milking and stock work , but mostly all the tractor work, bedding, feeding. After this I started working as a self employed tractor driver/ stockman, working 3days a week on another local dairy farm, milking 150 plus Holstein, stock work, calf rearing, the majority of tractor work including feeding stock, slurry and muck spreading, firtiliser spreading, all harvest work and fencing. I then also worked 3days on a beef and sheep unit which included 700 pedigree lleyn ewes, 100plus pedigree stabilisers and a small herd of highland cattle. Again here I was responsible for all the tractor work and helping the stockman with general duties, plus preparing sheep and cattle for showing in local shows and the Royal Welsh. I'm currently contracted full time to a upland organic beef and sheep farm, farming 1500ewes, 100 suckler cows plus a fattening unit.
