Farming background

1 years dairy experience gained in New Zealand and Australia. A fully active part of the team caring, milking and moving the herds. Setting up the paddocks and general farm maintenance. Milking 1100 cows on a rotary system. My manager was allowing me to assist in some of his duties as he can see I’m really keen to learn. Working 11 days on with 3 days off. Winter feeding of the herds, general farm maintenance, followed by calving and milking. Milking a herd of around 550 in a herringbone milking shed. Learnt a lot while working on this farm as the owner and manager involved me in all aspects of running the farm.
