I have previously worked for 4 months on a beef farm in Scotland where I worked as the apprentice. I did all the scraping out, helped with the bedding and the feeding. My job was also to bag up meal on a daily basis. I also helped the shepherd with some of his work. I have just worked for 11 months in large scale egg production looking after the hens and packing eggs. I have also experience on 2 milking farms - both with Holstein cows on a herringbone system. I have also spent 2 weeks lambing.

I really want to work with cattle or sheep and am happy to live in Scotland or the north of England. I am looking for a job to give me more experience and where I can develop new skills working as part of a team. I have worked in several herringbone milking parlours previously. I am from a family that has been in farming for generations. Keen, enthusiastic, hard working - that's how I would describe myself. I would need accommodation.

2013-14 Beef farm - also worked with shepherd occasionally as well as mending fences, roads etc. 2015 - worked on a community garden project for 6 months having been asked to extend my contract with them. 2015 - Started at Newton Rigg College, Penrith - 1 yr Agriculture Level 2 Diploma 2016-17 Large scale Egg production farm in Cumbria Extra Work experience includes further milking (herringbone) and assisting a foot trimmer for a couple of weeks.

Hobbies

Hill walking, Bothy trips and skiing mainly. I also like watching films, playing chess and driving. I have been a member of the Young Farmers for the last 2 years.
