Farming background

I have been working at a Farm in Yaxley since 25 July 2016 as part of the harvest team. The farm has over 2000 acres, which include oil seed rape, wheat and barley. I have gained valuable experience in arable farming ranging from: general tractor work, drawing wheat, barley and oil seed rape to the drying shed. Cultivating and disc work after the fields have been harvested, which including topping any fields that are required. Rolling and drilling oil seed rape for next years harvest. Sowing and drawing fertilizer when required. I have experience in using a variety of tractors depending on the job to be completed. This role has also involved a large percentage of road usage to and from the fields, which requires a high level of competence when driving large machinery. As part of the nature of harvesting the role also includes late evenings and early starts in order to ensure the job is completed, I have no problem working these hours as and when required. I have gained valuable experience in both dairy farming and pig farming and the associated roles within these jobs. As part of farm management for the dairy farming I have been actively involved in general farm labouring which includes a variety of tractor work such as rolling, topping, mixing and spreading slurry, sowing fertilizer, mowing and drawing silage, buck racking, covering pits, etc. My duties for the dairy herd management include assisting with the daily milking, ensuring the cow cubicles are scraped clean with Davy Brown 1390, and also bedding the cubicles with the Bobman sawdust dispenser. At silage time we work as a team to ensure the silage is completed I have used a variety of machinery depending on the jobs to be completed. Once the first cut of silage has been completed my role then involves slurring fields. Being from a farming background and are currently still farming, I have experience in using a variety of equipment and machinery. I have been involved in the maintenance of the machinery which includes servicing and repairing in the workshop. As __ ______also is the owner of a pig unit with 5000 pigs at different stages, I have been involved with the daily management, which includes teething, and vaccinating at the same time maintaining a high standard of hygiene and health and safety. I am currently working for a farming contractor which entails carrying out jobs for customers, which need to be carried out to a high stand, delivering excellent service. I have been working in Australia since September 2017, details in CV of the duties I have carried out.
