I work on a conventional farm and my two previous farms were organic. My passion is working with and milking cows. I currently have a mixed roll which includes milking, calving, AI, bulling checks, checking dry cows, feeding calves, castration, tagging, scrapping beds, scrapping yard, putting up fences and supervising staff. On my previous farm i did work on a farm as an assistant herdsman which i joined in April 2020 as the herdsman was off. He came back in July we calved in August, September and October. Prior to this i worked on an organic farm which I have done since March 2016 and really enjoy however the owner has decided to sell the cows. I was an assistant herdsman then took over as herdsman whilst the cows were being sold. Farming is my passion and want to continue in this industry which was hard enough to get into. I have lambed for the 2 years with 2 different farmers. We lambed 2000 and year before about 1000. I have lambed, treated them, penned them up, mucked out, bottle fed, tube fed, cake feeding, hay feeding, strawed out barns, used a hot box, adopted, fostered, turned out, ringed them.
