I Come from a 180 acre upland farm with 35 suckler cows and 250 sheep. Done most livestock jobs including lambing, worming, tagging, weighing, sorting, grading, moving stock, TB testing, worming cattle. Also I have worked on a 400 cow dairy unit where my duties included milking, calf rearing, moving stock with livestock trailer, quad bike work, mucking out calf pens, worming and bolusing cattle and other general farm jobs. I have completed a middle year placement on a beef, sheep and arable farm where my main responsibility's included, feeding, bedding with Teagle straw chopper, Sorting and weighing fattened cattle, worming cattle, tagging livestock, sorting, weighing and grading fattened lambs, electric fencing, checking and feeding sheep, some foot trimming, transporting animals with tractor and stock box. Also I lived at the livestock farm so was responsible for regularly checking stock before and after work and solving any problems that may have arose.

Farming background

I come from an upland beef and sheep farm in Derbyshire. I have worked there since a young age and have done a wide variety of jobs. I have also worked on 400 cow dairy unit undertaking relief milking and other general farm jobs. I have also completed a middle year placement where I worked on a beef, sheep and arable farm where undertook a wide variety of jobs including tractor work (with a good mix of field and road work), 360 digger driving (up to 13 tonnes), dumper driving, cemetery work such as digging and filling in graves, spraying, hedge cutting, strimming and topping, estate jobs such as fencing and building work, fishery maintenance, wood cutting, grain handling and store work, preparing for events at the farms craft centre, some workshop work and other general farm jobs. I also have experience of dealing with the public. Next I worked at a harvest job on a 2000 acre arable farm nr st Neots in Cambridgeshire. My Duties included loadall work, rolling, topping and other general farm jobs such as grain store work and estate maintenance work. The farm runs a fleet of John Deere and Deutz Fahr tractors and a Merlo telehandler. I have also done a small amount of combining with the farms Deutz Fahr 6095 HTS combine. I have Just returned from New Zealand where I worked for a contracting company called Regal agriculture. My duties there included tedding, raking, moving and stacking bales, dump trailer work, workshop work, a small amount of buck raking, silage carting, loadall driving, a small amount of cultivations as well as some round baling and wrapping. The business runs a mixed fleet of Valtra, Claas, John Deere, Fendt and New Holland tvt tractors with a JCB loadall and Krone, Lely, Mchale and Claas grass equipment.

Hobbies

Have a keen interest in classic and vintage tractors and cars. Also I'm a YFC member.
