I grew up on a large mixed farming estate compromising of beef, sheep and arable enterprises. My father has been a very successful farm manager and I have learnt a lot whilst helping him over the years. Since college I have been interested in dairy and have worked my way up to being a Herdsman on a Marks&Spencer's contract farm in Berkshire. I have 5 years in the dairy industry with a couple of breaks where I worked for agricultural contractors gaining valuable machinery experience. I am now looking for a permanent dairy position.

Farming background

I have grown up on a variety of mixed farms as my father was a farm manager. when I was young I thoroughly enjoyed shadowing my father in whatever he was doing. I went to Brymore school situated in Somerset where I was able to take part in a mixture of agricultural activities ranging from tractor driving to milking a small herd of holstien cows through a 4 breast parlour. I then went on to gain my Extended Diploma in Agriculture (NDA) at Lackham College. Since leaving college I have worked as a herdsman, a stockman/GFW, for a hay and straw merchant, and worked for an agricultural contractors where I gained a lot of machinery experience.

Shooting, fly fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
