My tractor experience involved operating high horse power tractors which include a QuadTrac, Fendt 936, CAT Challenger MT765B and John Deere 8360R. My primary cultivations work involved ploughing, discing as well as subsoiling. Secondary cultivations included power harrowing, culti-pressing, spring-tining, rolling as well as drilling with a Lemken Solitair, Weaving direct drill, Sumo DTS6, and a Moore uni-drill, seeding wheat, barley, oats, beans, rapeseed and various herb seeds.

With regards spraying, I have used a 4000 litre - 24 metre trailed Amazone sprayer, 3200 litre - 28 metre trailed Berthoud, a 4000 litre - 30 metre Househam Air-Ride self propelled sprayer, a 24 metre 3500 litre Sands-Vision self propelled sprayer and a 32 metre - 5200 litre John Deere R952i trailed sprayer. As such, I am PA1 & PA2 accredited and NRoSO registered. I have also done prilled fertiliser applications operating a KUHN Axis 40-2 and liquid fertiliser application using the Berthoud sprayer listed above.

My combine harvester stints involved operating a Claas Lexion 550, Claas Lexion 750 Hybrid, Massey Fergusson MF 7260 paralevel, and a Case 9230 Axial Flow and New Holland CR9.90 Twin Rotor. This involved combining OSR, barley, wheat, oats, field beans, rye grass and borage. In terms of guidance farming systems, I have used John Deeres GreenStar, Trimble, Patchwork and Teejet GPS systems for cultivations, crop spraying and muck/compost spreading, drilling and combining, in conjunction with auto steering.

Other livestock experience

I have worked at a 450 herd dairy farm as an assistant herdsperson, involved with milking, bedding using a straw chopper in cubicles and straw yard, hoof trimming, scraping up, looking after the young-stock and general maintenance. I also had a stint working on a 1 000 beef herd farm. I was responsible for looking after the young stock, but got involved in other tasks like TMR feeding and helping cattle in labour.
