I can drive a tractor and got my license, I have worked in several different milking parlours including a 26/25 full wood parlour, I have a little experience in calving and all different jobs performed on a farm, there aren't many milking parlours that I can't use. I am familiar with John Deere, Fendt and New Holland tractors. I am for my age an excellent tractor driver and can turn my hands to anything. I am a quick learner and pick most things up quick, the biggest and hardest thing is proving I can do these tasks and getting a break.

I have milked in several different parlours these include a rotary parlour a herringbone parlour. Not being from a farming background and wanting to pursue a career in this industry I have had several part time jobs on local farms in gaining experience in livestock and animal husbandry. I am quite competant at this now and believe you only get out of the cow what you put into it, I have a little knowledge on the New Zealand grass system also,

Other Information

Like I said I previously I am not from a farming background but it is a career that I want to follow, I want to progress with a full time job and gain experience and learn on the job, which I feel is much better than going to college, I just need somebody to take a chance on me. I have milked on my own scraped on my own and performed all various tasks on the farm. My milking experience includes milking 300- 400 cows in a 25/50 full wood parlour. I have tried to go down getting a job instead of an apprenticeship as I feel you learn more from doing the job full time and learning from experienced workers than from a classroom. I am working on a beef and dairy farm close to home but I want to progress in this industry and I feel the knowledge and experience only comes from working on bigger farms or overseas.
