Currently rearing 280 dairy replacements, my responsibilities also include dry stock, tractor work and relief milking weekends and busy periods. previously responsible for the health and wellbeing of 250 beef calfs. This includes weaning, dehorning and vaccinating. I am also experienced in rearing and producing 40,000 turkeys for Copas Traditional Turkeys and more recently 15000 for Walters Turkeys. I have experience lambing 700 ewes, my duties include assisting ewes lambing, maintaining lamb health, administrating medicines, bedding, feeding, etc.

I took two years away from agriculture to manage a chain of ice cream parlours. After 18 months and succeeding to open 2 more stores i left to go back to the industry i enjoy. I treat every animal as if it is my own working to the highest possible standards at all times. Colleagues would describe me as a Dr doolittle type who occasionally wraps the stock in cotton wool a little too much.

Farming background

Experience in lambing large numbers (700+) of ewes, my duties include assisting ewes lambing, maintaining lamb health, administrating medicines, bedding, feeding etc. Experienced stockman able to identify and treat sick animals quickly and efficiantly. (800+ cattle) Experienced in milking, calving and herd management (400 cows) Experienced in poultry husbandry, identifying sick birds and the processing methods from farm to fork (35-40,000 turkeys) Experienced harvest worker, Grain cart, straw, etc.

Hobbies

I like to keep my working life busy, but here possible i enjoy walking the dogs and seeing my children. I also help a friends pedigree blue herd (Drift Blues) with stock and property/land maintenance.
