Currently working with 550 Holstein/Friesian cows.  We have around 200 head of Aberdeen Angus beef cattle and 120 Heifer replacements.  Prior to this I was employed on an outdoor pig unit looking after 1500 sows. I was responsible for AI , weening, vaccinations and general feeding and cleaning.

2015-Present – Assistant Dairy Manager for Waitrose’s Leckford Estate - Has to work part of a large team - Responsible for the overall health and welfare standards within the herd - Has to organise team meetings to maintain strength and motivation - Advanced experience of Interherd and DairyPro and Uniform software - Up keep of medical and birth records for all livestock situated on site - Advanced experience in the running of a rotary parlour system - Has to organise weekly visits with veterinary staff and review the performance of the herd - Advanced experience of foot trimming and artificial insemination (AI) - Responsible for the fertility performance within the herd - Involves communicating with staff at all levels - Has to adapt to be able to work within all areas of the farm, providing cover where needed. This includes advanced experience in feeding both dairy and beef cattle, the running of the heifer rearing unit, milking, etc.
