Fully capable of all aspects of sheep care gathering and moving, shearing, dipping, drenching, foot trimming, feeding, breeding, lambing. Cattle Work: Assisted with family croft small herd of 20 Beef cattle, breeds include Shetlands, Charolais, Shorthorns, Aberdeen Angus and Herefords experience of calving, feeding, mucking out, gathering and moving. Currently employed as a stock, farm worker and undertake all aspects of cattle, sheep husbandry and tractor work.

Have provided sheepdog training to others and sheepdog displays for events, tours as requested. I am a fit individual, hardworking, honest, reliable and trustworthy. I have a keen interest in and enthusiasm for sheep and beef farming and am keen to continue developing my knowledge and expertise in this area. I am able to work on my own initiative as well as part of a team. I am able to work in all weather conditions and for long hours.

Aug 1994- Jul 1996 - Apprentice General Engineer, Mid Yell, Yell. - Duties: general plant maintenance, machinery maintenance, welding and fabrication, ordering stores. Jul 1996 - Oct 2005 - Trainee Deckhand progressing to deckhand, Shetland Island Council, Inter-island Ferries - Duties: assisting in; embarkation and disembarkation, berthing and mooring, fare collection and cashing up, housekeeping and cooking for crews. Oct 2005 - June 2018 - ran own freelance shepherding business providing services to local crofters including - gathering, shearing,foot trimming, drenching, dipping. Throughout all above assisted on family croft beef cattle and sheep and since 2005 have also managed own croft working 300 sheep. June 2018 - present. Stock/Farm worker - SRUC Craibstone, Aberdeen. All aspects cattle, sheep husbandry, tractor work.
