I am 21 year old male who has been involved in mixed farming for a good 10 years and have been working in the south west region. I am living in the Gloucester area and am seeking a general farm worker position short or long term. I am interested in beef and arable sectors.

February 2017 until now working at H and E Rudges Ballingham Court as a general farm worker on a diverse 600 acre farm with 100 Stabiliser / British Blue cross Hereford suckler herd with finished cattle sold to Dovecote Park, 200 Texel x ewes, apple and pear orchards, 5 acres of solar panels, 80kw anaerobic digester plant and a fire wood business. Helping with all aspects of livestock husbandry with the cattle and sheep and also general tractor driving tasks including muck spreading, power harrowing, feeding with mixer wagon rolling, topping, harrowing, raking, tedding and some fruit tree spraying. Also a lot of loadall work such as bedding with a spread-a-bale machine, day to day feeding stock and digester loading. General maintenance on the farm e.g. fencing. Mid September to December 2016 worked at M and M Roberts, Bromley Court, Hoarwithy on 400 acre unit helping out with the apple harvest, 100 pedigree Hereford cattle herd and occasional help on the 100,000 broiler poultry unit e.g. maintenance, checking sheds and unloading chicks. June - September 2016 worked at a larger beef farm with mainly 500 continental cross cattle near Tewkesbury. Feeding and bedding cattle on a daily basis with Lucas wagon, handling cattle, mowing, tedding, raking, hauling corn and grass, bale stacking/loading/hauling. September 2015 until June 2016 working on a small beef farm with 220 Aberdeen Angus cattle, day to day routines include feeding cattle TMR rations with keenan, using a straw chopper to bed the cattle down and using telehandler to move material about. Cattle experience on farms I have worked on. Moving stock, daily checking of health status e.g. calves for pneumonia, cows feet, body condition, D.L.W.G. weighing, worming/fluking, bolusing, ear tagging, de-horning/dis-budding, feeding and bedding cattle on my own and some calving experience. Sheep experience: lambing, worming, fluking, weighing and foot trimming

Main jobs: feeding and bedding cattle on a daily basis with Lucas wagon, general silageing tasks from trailering to rolling the pit, topping, raking tedding, tanking, ‘sumoing’, general handling of stock, fencing etc. October 2015 to June 2016. Here I was involved with looking after 220 head of pedigree Aberdeen Angus suckler cows and calves, and Angus x Holstein brought in weaned calves to finishing (Blade). All jobs on the farm carrying out general farm duties including feeding with Keenan and bedding with Teagle straw chopper, cattle handling, general welfare of stock. July - September 2015.
