I was born and raised on farms and have worked with livestock since leaving school. 2013/14: in charge of daily management of 1600 commercial ewes and assisting with an additional 2600 ewes on other farms in the enterprise. Maintaining management records. Generally working on my own, but as part of a team during busy periods.  MAR 10 - FEB 13 Self employed Duties: Lambing Person, carrying out 12 hour shifts in charge of lambing Ewes monitoring the health of Ewes and lambs and making sure lambs get adequate colostrum. Maintaining flock records.  Agricultural contractor, carrying out work during busy periods which includes assisting at shearing and preparing sheep for shows and sales SEP   11 – Feb 13:  Pedigree Sheep partnership Duties: In charge of the daily management of the Pedigree sheep flock. Responsible for the health of the flock, deciding on and implementing the feeding and health programmes. Also, solely responsible at lambing time and throughout the year.    FEB  09 - MAR 10 Roxburgh Mains Position Held: Stockman Duties: Responsible for the day to day management of 200 cow pedigree Aberdeen Angus herd plus followers, also 100 pedigree Suffolk, 100 pedigree Texel and 350 commercial ewe flocks.  Responsibilities also included the health of the livestock, administering treatments as and when necessary, calving, lambing, managing the feeding programme and ensuring that others adhered to this, halter training cattle and calculating their feed requirements to peak for shows and sales.
