Farming background

I grew up on a 7 Acre small holding and have grown up helping out friends on various farming enterprises. At 14 I started my first paid job helping out on a local farm. When I was able to legally drive I worked on a neighbouring beef and arable farm part time whilst studying at college during the week. After finishing college I was employed to help with the harvest and the field preparation for the new season on a local farm. From 18-Nov-2014 to the end of July 2016 I was employed full time as the Tractor driver on a Dairy farm where they installed Lely robots which I helped install and then maintained and checked daily. Although I have telehandler experience (using it daily to load the feeder wagon as well as other jobs) I do not have the Telehandler ticket at present. I have expanded my experience of other machinery including the use of a digger and satellite mapping in 200+hp tractors. Although my primary job was tractor driving and helping to manage the farm I was employed on, I was regularly hired out in the farm's New Holland t7.210 and Smyth 16Ton trailer at peak season to a big contractor in North Devon to assist with maize and grass silage. From July to Oct 2016 I worked as required on a local beef and arable farm prior to getting a self employed contract position through LkL services Ltd. on a Beef and Sheep farm in SE Cornwall. This contract was to provide stockman and tractor driving skills for the farm.
