Experienced Shepherd and stockman with good dogs.  Managed flocks of 1000+ ewes.  Also run beef fattening and heifer rearing units.  Own small flock of pedigree Suffolks and suckler cows.  To sum me up briefly, I bring the best of traditional shepherding, married to the science and technology now available for flock management and genetic improvement.  I am also a competent tractor driver for all harvesting and trailer work.  I make my own hay and help neighbours with silage work.  I am tele-handler experienced.

Farming backgroundI have been in and around agriculture all my life.  Firstly arable (25+ years ago) then when I came back to the industry, mainly livestock specifically shepherding.  I've worked on a variety of farms, mainly mixed enterprises, so also have experience of dairy, beef and arable work too. I have managed flocks of 1000+ ewes.
HobbiesI am a keen fly fisherman.  I also enjoy reading and watching films. I like to trial with my dogs, but not sure if that's not work!
