I have many years experience in Arable Farming and have covered everything from Tractor/Combine driving through all cultivations, drilling, spraying and fertiliser spreading using Claas, John Deere, JCB & Bateman machinery.   I currently work on a 400 hectare Farm in Leicestershire, but am originally from Huntingdonshire and would like the opportunity to return to the area. As a skilled operator I am PA1,PA2 &  NoRoSo registered, and also have experience in GPS and Gatekeeper Software. I also currently hold 360 Digger and  Loading Shovel certificates.

Working Farm Manager, Leicestershire 2011-present As the farm manager I cover everything from Tractor/Combine driving through all cultivations, drilling, spraying and fertiliser spreading. Arable farm cropping cereals and oilseed rape over approximately 400 hectares, and alongside this are 17 light industrial commercial units. As the working farm manager I work closely with the owner and have the responsibility for the following: • Crop husbandry and production • Establishing and implementing the farm business strategy including crop rotation and costing. • Implementation of precision farming • Machinery maintenance and procurement • Farm building and estate maintenance • Crop assurance compliance, boundary maintenance and E.L.S. Schemes During harvest I am responsible for students which are employed to help manage the busy period. We also undertake some contract 360 Digger work in the local area. Farm Manager- Norfolk 2009-11 Arable farm cropping with wheat, oilseeds and sugarbeet. The farm extends to 2000 hectares and is spread over approximately 30 miles. As the Farm Manager I had the responsibility for the following: • Implementation of Precision farming • Crop husbandry and production • The procurement of all input consumables for the business • Management of staff • Machinery maintenance • Health & safety • Farm building and estate maintenance • Establishing and implementing the farm business strategy with the owners • Financial management • Business administration including using Gatekeeper software The business employed five general farm workers, one lorry driver, one pest control operative plus four harvest workers, all of whom reported directly to me. My role as farm manager was undertaken in a broader sense than other roles I have had, which allowed me to gain strong experience in people management skills. General Farm Worker- 2008-09 • Spraying • Fertiliser Spreading • All Cultivations • Digger Driver • General Farm Duties After the sale of Farm. Working Farm Manager -  Huntingdon 1997-08 Arable and sporting farm which extends to 400 hectares. During my employment it was cropped with cereals, oilseeds and pulses, with woodland and cover crops utilised for sporting purposes. I reported directly to the owners of the business with quarterly meetings to discuss farm operations. In addition to myself, the business employed one farm worker of craftsman grade. From a practical perspective I operated at all levels of the business undertaking primary cultivations to drilling and store management. Finishing school in 1984 and I was responsible for all practical farm operations on the farm until I became the manager in 1997.

Hobbies

I enjoy a full and active social life with my wife and family and have many friends in the farming community. I specifically enjoy shooting and travelling as well as rugby.
