Shepherded flocks up to 2500 ewes. Last permanent job involved full managerial responsibilities for 1000 ewes lambing three times a year providing lamb for own butchers shops. Have worked in hill and upland situations as well as lowland flock management. Was a contract lamber for several years with mainly repeat contracts.Willing to run a lambing set-up. Experience of night and outdoor lambing. I worked on the farm where I lambed for 4 years and was given the chance to run the shed; from fairly similar scanning numbers I was able to raise the true lambing % from approx' 165 to 189 while reducing the staffing level. In Norfolk was given a blank sheet of paper and set up a successful lambing operation which once again raised performance with reduced labour input; resulting in a lambing % over the three flocks of 175, bearing in mind some were lambing in January and May which resulted in reduced prolificacy and the ewes were of less prolific breeds.
