Hobbies

I enjoy shooting, mostly pigeons/game/vermin when I have time along with gardening and trying to train my dog. I also have an interest in scale models of farm equipment which I collect and also build and customise my own.

Pen picture (Height, weight etc.)

5'10 of average build, trying to get the weight down but the choccy biscuits keep calling me!!!

Relevant health problems

I do have asthma but it is controlled with medication and any relevant PPE is used for jobs that require working in a dusty environment. I suffer no more from illness than any other person would do. I'm keen to get away from the livestock side of things due to my asthma, I have no problem with straw/dust/chemicals but ammonia in the livestock buildings seems to be having an adverse affect on me these days.

Farming background

I come from a farming background and have worked for farms and contractors since leaving school. I have built up a large working knowledge of machinery along the way and am able to maintain any machine that I use. Spraying experience has been gained with a JD trailed applying liquid fertiliser and pre emergence applications on sugarbeet and also blight spraying, round-up application and desication of potato crops with an Amazone Panterra. I have a keen interest in farm machinery and try to keep up to date with new developments where possible. As well as working with machinery I am also a freelance training instructor working for several groups in East Anglia covering pesticide use (Pa1,2a,4g,4s,SC), Forklifts (B1,J2), Tractors and machinery.
