Background:Work Experience Self Employed contractor - September 2007 onwards Whilst I have been self employed I have worked for various customers providing a number of services these included bedforming, ridging for carrots and potatoes. I have also planted potatoes, this role included applying liquid fertilizer at the same time. Also I have used GPS systems as various customers had this installed on their machinery. I also have experience of heavy cultivations with high horsepower tractors up to around 300 hp. Roworth Brothers Agricultural contractors - March 07 – Sept 07 Role Included: Service and maintenance of tractors machinery and some major repairs such as replacing brakes, bearings and running gear on tractor back end. Other roles included general cultivations preparing land for cereals and root crops for various customers. Destoning for potatoes, carrots and chantenay carrots for various customers including Huntapac produce, Strawsons ltd, and R.E.Howard farms. I also spent a lot of time carting and stacking straw for power stations and for covering carrots. I also did forklift work loading straw spreaders whilst covering carrots. R.L.Crowe farms - April 04 – March 07 Role Included: Service and maintenance of tractors and machinery. Other roles included ploughing and general cultivations, preparing land for cereals, potatoes, carrots, onions, and sugar beet. Also fertiliser spreading on all of the above crops, haulage of produce to store’s. Also forklift driving, stacking produce in box stores, loading and unloading lorries. Another role was setting up land pipes and pumps for irrigation and dismantling them. I was a relief destoner driver. Also I would work on the poultry side of the farm as part of a team doing repairs, dismantling, cleaning and preparing sheds for the next flock of birds. Also I would be part of a team doing electric and permanent fencing around poultry houses. I pretty much grew up at R.L.Crowe farms every spare minute I had as school child was spent there from sitting as a passenger on the tractors watching everything the driver did until eventually I got my chance at a young age I started doing little jobs on tractors and forklifts around the yard and quickly progressed to more responsible roles. J Bennett Builder - Dec 03 – April 04 Role Included: General labouring for two bricklayers. Occasionally doing a bit of bricklaying myself and forklift, dumper driving around the site. B&M Chappell Agricultural contractors - June 03 – Dec 03 Role Included: Service and maintenance of tractors and machinery. Other roles included potato planting, haulage of crops to producer, haulage of water and chemicals to sprayer and also sucking water from dyke’s, reservoirs etc for spraying. Bawtry Forest Christmas tree’s - Dec 01 – Dec 07 Role Included: Felling Christmas trees, wrapping Christmas trees, dealing with customers and delivering trees. This was a position that I filled for several years over the Christmas period and worked it around my job at the time. Referees Personal Statement I am an enthusiastic honest hard working individual.
